I am a digital-game-based learning researcher, evaluator, and designer. I focus on games in K12 education through commercial-off-the-shelf game-based lesson plans that integrate games in inquiry-based units, the design of learning games in mathematics and science, and training preservice teachers in STEM content areas and the integration of games in their classrooms. I also study games and gender, intelligent tutoring systems and games, games in air traffic control, and cognitive style, and I am currently pursing research using biometric correlates (EEG, heart rate, etc.) of cognitive/affective states (e.g., aggression) in gameplay.
